Friends In Adoption has a kind, respectful and compassionate team of Caseworkers
on staff who can provide many services and a tremendous amount of support to those
involved in the adoption process and beyond. We assist pregnant women/couples
with individual adoption plans, provide adoption education and give honest answers
to the sometimes-tough questions. The casework staff is available 24 hours/day,
toll-free to answer questions from anyone considering an adoption plan for their

Dawn is the founder and Director... the heart and soul of FIA. Her passions
are her family, adoption and snowboarding. Dawn is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of the agency. She acts as a resource for numerous post adoption issues.
Dawn also outreaches and networks throughout the northeast. She will retire when
her rocking chair no longer rocks. Dawn and her husband, Joel are the adoptive

Barb is our Caseworker from the Baldwinsville, NY office. She has over
nine years of adoption experience with counseling pregnant woman and conducting
Homestudies and Post Placement Supervision for our New York families. Her compassionate

is the Director of Finance and Personnel and the IT Liaison. Tara maintains the
life behind the scenes in the business section of our organization. She is in
charge of the financial affairs of FIA which includes the accounting as well as
managing client escrow accounts. Tara works in Middletown Springs, Vermont and
lives in eastern New York with her husband. Contact

Mary is the Director of Public Relations; Legal Liaison and Case Work
Supervisor. Mary works with FIA in Clifton Park, New York to ensure case work
procedures and legal requirements for a successful adoption are met. She also
manages FIA resources to promote adoption awareness throughout the community.
Mary is an adoptive mom twice over with FIA and lives with her husband Tom, son
Matt and daughter Kara in the Albany, New York area. Contact

began working for FIA in the spring of 2001. She is FIA’s Community Outreach Coordinator
helping to promote adoption awareness and education throughout the Northeast.
She also works with pregnant women/couples by providing information about adoption,
their options and rights & responsibilities and coordinates FIA’s Get Acquainted
Workshops. Kim lives in Vermont with her husband and two sons. Contact

helps Mary with various projects in the Clifton Park office. She is a Siena college
student (social work major), working part-time.She is also a birthmother who placed
her child 2 years ago with FIA. She enjoys speaking with pregnant women who are
facing the same tribulations she faced and women who have already placed. Mary
and Holly have also been speaking to students, counselors, social workers, and
often lawyers at high schools, colleges , and conferences for the past year about

is working as a part-time caseworker in Northville, New York. Once a match is
made, Lynn works with a pregnant woman/couple and prospective adoptive parents
to ensure a successful adoption plan is in place. Lynn outreaches and networks
in the Capital District. Lynn is an adoptive mom twice over and lives with her
