We commend you for the courageous choice you are making for your child. We truly hope that you have all the love and support you need to get through this time in your life. We know that you want what is best for him or her, and thank you for taking the time to consider us as potential parents.

My best friend, Tom

I told my friends the first day that I met him that I would marry him. Tom is my 'sweets', my love, my soul mate. He is my everyday blessing and I am so grateful for his presence in my life. He is one of those truly compassionate and generous people in the world who gives to others without expectation and accepts others without judgment. The sun would shine less brightly if he were not in the world.

Tom loves being outside, being active, and enjoying the world. He is happy walking the dog, talking over the fence with the neighbors, hiking, biking, kayaking or just hanging out on our deck. He has a black belt in Tai-Kwon-Do and a brown belt in Karate, and is looking forward to going to daddy/child Karate classes or bringing his children to the gym. He has traveled all over the world and talks about trips to the Grand Canyon and Greece and Italy when the children are older. As a child, Tom was active in the Boy Scouts and became an eagle scout. He is an intelligent man who excels at what he decides to do.

I love to watch Tom with his nephew and nieces. He plays lovingly and freely. The joy in his eyes as he watches them grow and learn is endearing. Tom has a delightfully gentle soul and can be delightfully silly as well!

Professionally, Tom is an electrical engineer. He has been doing this for many years and has a solid, steady job. He is a wonderful provider and would do anything for those he loves.

My wife, Cheryl

Cheryl is the most loving, beautiful wife I could have ever dreamed of. She is truly a blessing in my life. She is my soul mate, my best friend, my inspiration, and my love. She is always there for me and anyone who needs her.

Cheryl has a wonderful sense of humor and loves to have fun. She is very artistic and loves painting and doing crafts. She takes pleasure in everyday things like walking the dog and seeing the kids in the neighborhood play. She loves biking and visiting the ocean and the mountains. We usually prefer to go to a natural setting for our vacations.

Professionally, Cheryl is a licensed social worker. She has worked as a drug rehabilitation counselor to help people overcome addiction, a mental health counselor, and is currently a social worker for a nursing home.

Cheryl loves children and dreams of becoming a mother. She is very comfortable with young children and is used to taking care of them. She has worked as a day care provider and believes in giving children an environment structured to maximize their emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

Our Family

Most of Tom's family lives close by. His parents live within three miles of us and are looking forward to having more grandchildren to play with. We see them almost daily and all go to church together. Tom has many aunts, uncles and cousins in the area. He has one sister, Stephanie, her husband, Mike, and their three children. Tom's family is Greek and they hold the values of family and friendship dear to them.

Cheryl's extended family is from Northern New York. She has one brother, Elton, in Connecticut who is looking forward to becoming an uncle and taking his niece or nephew fishing. Cheryl also has three very close friends, Barb, MJ, and Nancy, who look forward to being 'aunts'.

ZooZoo is our dog. She loves everyone, especially those with food. She licks people, likes her tummy rubbed, sleeps on the bed when she isn't supposed to and barks for cookies. She is lousy at fetch but will shake your hand, give you a 'high five' and bark on command (and sometimes just because she wants to!)

We believe that you are an important part of your child's life and history. We believe that your child has the right to know who they are and where they came from. Your child will always know that he/she is adopted and that you made the unselfish decision to create an adoption plan because you love them. We are open to creating a mutually respectful and comfortable relationship with you if you would like.

Our Home

We live in a beautiful suburban neighborhood. Our children will attend the same highly-rated school system that Tom did as a child. Our community is filled with children playing. Car traffic is minimal. Our home is a wonderful 3-bedroom ranch with a fenced-in back yard. There is plenty of room for swing sets, volleyball or badminton courts and a basketball hoop is already attached to the garage. In the warmer weather, we will garden and share our bounty with family and friends.

For days when the sunshine hides, we have a fully finished basement to play in. We have two spare rooms in our house right now. One is a beach themed room (filled with sand, shells, dolphins, fish, sand toys etc) and the other is a woods theme (filled with bunnies, fawn, owls, wildflowers, fox, raccoons, chipmunks etc). We are still deciding which room will be the nursery. Most importantly, our home is filled with love, respect, safety, understanding, compassion, and the Peace of our Creator.

Our Values

Please be assured that, when we become parents, we will provide a child with a loving, nurturing and supportive home. We are active in our church community and will raise our children in the Christian faith. We are deeply committed to our marriage, and are excited about starting a family. We believe that the experiences during the early years of a child's life are vital to his or her growth and happiness. Cheryl plans to be a stay-at home mom to ensure that those first years are positive. We plan on having at least two children so that they will always have each other for support and friendship.

Thank You

Thank you for taking the time to read our humble story. We hope that this gives you a glimpse into who we are. We can only imagine what a difficult decision this is for you. We hold you in our prayers that you will know peace with whatever decision you make. You may be holding many stories in your hand right now. How do you pick? Pick from your heart, even if it is not us. The same heart that made the courageous decision to consider an adoption plan will help you make the right choice for your child. May Blessings and health be with you and your child.
