We’re
Robert and Nathan and we’d like to share a bit about ourselves and life. In the
nine years that we’ve been with each other,we’ve always talked about someday raising
a child.Given how close we are to our families,we knew that starting one of our
own was definitely in our future. We’re excited to share and expand our lives by
raising a child together. We thank you for taking this time to consider us in
your adoption plan. We are eager to create a loving world for your child and want
to assure you that we enter into this process with an easy-going nature and a
willingness to constantly learn and adapt to the challenges of life. We understand
that you’re making a decision to put your trust and faith into us and to develop
a lifelong relationship with us through our mutual love and concern for your child. We
look forward to the path ahead and welcome the opportunity to meet you on this
journey. |
Robert
by Nathan When I first met Robert, I knew immediately that he was someone
very special. He’s gentle and caring and has a sense of adventure – always willing
to follow my whims and travel the world, but also perfectly content staying home
tending to projects around the house and garden or cooking up one of his scrumptious
meals. His commitment to the children he works with in his job has given
me insight into the patient and attentive dad he’ll be. He’s a favorite among
the students in his school, always showing them some cool new piece of technology
to help them learn. | |

has never had a shortage of hobbies. He’s run many marathons and loves his photography
and gardening. I’ve always admired his desire to immerse himself deeply in his
interests and share his joy of learning. I’m constantly amazed at the wealth of
information Robert stores in his brain. It seems he has a scientific explanation
for just about anything you could ever ask him! I know Robert will be a
wonderful father, sharing his knowledge and passions about the world with him
or her. I absolutely can’t wait to raise our child together. |
Nathan by Robert Nathan
and I were meant to be together. Before our first date, we agreed that friendship
was the most important quality we both valued above all other things. When
I first saw Nathan, I was immediately struck by his smile and his natural charm.
While the movie we saw on our first date rated two stars, Nathan was Oscar-worthy
material! Nathan is remarkably tuned into the lives of his
family and friends. His childhood videotape library contains plenty of birthday
and holiday footage, but also an amazing collection of humorous skits he created
with his friends and family. |

Nathan’s
family has a fun, creative, and artsy side that has been nurtured throughout his
life. A child will definitely have lots of room to imagine and create in our home.
Nathan has a big heart that he freely shares with everyone. His incredible
capacity to show affection for all living creatures brings a smile to my face.
Nathan will be the type of father that loves freely. He will support our child’s
natural curiosity and always encourage creativity. |

Family
& Friends Having both been raised in New England, we
are fortunate to have most of our immediate and extended families close by. We
have large, regular family gatherings to celebrate holidays and birthdays, many
which are organized by Nathan’s amazing 95-year-old grandmother. We
enjoy summer adventures with Nathan’s godson Alexander and Alexander’s brother
Ethan. We’ve taken them to farms, the Boston Children’s Museum and amusement parks. |

Thanksgiving
with Robert’s mom | Robert’s
younger sister, Stacey and Nathan’s sister Kim are excited to become aunts. Stacey,
who works in law enforcement, has always loved children and will be actively involved
in our child’s life. We often take weekend trips to visit
Kim and her husband, Brian, who live in a quiet and rural town in Vermont. We’re
also very close with Nathan's twin younger brother and sister, Simon and Lacy.
We both feel that it will be important for our child to be
surrounded by a large, fun-loving community of women. Nathan’s mother, who we
see often, lives just 10 miles away and Robert’s mom is in Connecticut, about
two hours away. We regularly take day trips down to visit with her and Stacey.

Friends
play an important role in our life together both at home and away. We regularly
see our neighborhood friends Geoff and Min for dinner gatherings, barbecues or
outings around town. Our French friend, Delphine, is our favorite cat sitter and
is always up for an urban adventure. Our good friends Paul and L.J. just adopted
a son named Anthony. |

Our
Life Together In our many years together, we have seen the world, traveling
around Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, the United States and South America.
There are many more places in the world left to see and we’re looking forward
to sharing those experiences with our child. We both manage our professional
lives so that we have ample free time. As parents, we would never over-program
our child’s life understanding, from our own experiences as children, the need
for downtime and play. We plan to nurture our child’s natural interests. We
were married in the summer of 2008 after eight years together. Our ceremony was
small, simple and perfectly reflected our love and commitment toward each other. | |

Home Our
three bedroom home has a fenced-in yard containing a beautiful garden with lots
of space for a child to play, in a town located on Boston’s doorstep with a beautiful
arboretum, zoo, wooded walking trails, ponds, and a lively town center. Just
across the street is a very large park with a jungle gym, running track, dog run,
and playing fields that are often full of children. The neighborhood school, within
walking distance, is rated one of the best in the state. |
