Thank
you for spending some time with us! We know you are facing some difficult
decisions right now, and we truly admire your strength and determination as you
plan for your child’s future. Thank you for including us in your thoughts, and
welcome to this short profile of our home and our lives together… |
About
Us The first time we met, we knew there was something special between us.
We share a similar sense of humor (we can be pretty silly at times), and
a love of the arts, and have formed a relationship based on mutual love and respect.
After knowing each other for only a few weeks, we both knew that we wanted to
spend our lives together and raise children together. After many years,
we still make each other laugh all the time. |

house on a nice sunny day. |
 Saying
hello from our doorstep, ready to welcome our new addition to our family! | We
hope to share some of our love and laughter with a child someday soon! Whoever
that child may be, we know that we will find each other. When that day comes,
we are ready to provide a safe and caring home. We live in a four bedroom
house in a quiet residential neighborhood in New York City. Many of our friends
live nearby, and most of them have small children. Our neighborhood also has lots
of young families, several schools within walking distance, a nice library, and
great parks. We enjoy a walk in the botanic garden in any season! They have lots
of kids’ programs there too. We have a back yard with enough room to play
in, or just to sit and enjoy the many different flowers Mike has planted there.
Our cat Beanie is a real sweetie and gets along great with kids! |

| Penelope
by Mike Penelope is my best friend. She is very smart and intelligent. I
love the way she makes me laugh and keeps things going. I enjoy her companionship
and loving nature. Listening in on conversations with friends, family or
anyone is a lesson in conversation…she always seems to ask the right questions.
Penelope enjoys keeping in touch with her friends and is the first to remember
everyone’s birthday or anniversary. Of the two of us, Penelope is the one who
thinks up and plans the get togethers and vacations. Penelope has collected all
sorts of children’s books, and I am sure she can’t wait to read them to someone
special. |
Penelope
was born in England and grew up in Massachusetts with her brother Jeremy. Her
half sister and brother, Alexis and Ross, came along much later, so Penelope was
old enough to help her Mom when they were little. We enjoy visiting Penelope’s
family in Massachusetts, and spending time on Cape Cod with her Dad and stepmother
Jeanie. |
Penelope
and her Mom paddling a canoe while spending a weekend together. |

Penelope
on the piano | Penelope has always been pretty studious,
and now works as a lawyer for New York State. Penelope’s job allows her to work
regular hours and take time off when she needs to. She likes to relax with yoga
and flower arranging classes. Penelope took piano lessons for many years
and we have a piano in our house. We believe it’s important for every child to
have the opportunity to explore a talent for art or music or writing. |

In
Arizona, Penelope enjoys making friends with cactus. |

Penelope
enjoys making beautiful flower arrangements like this one.

by Penelope Mike is one of the most kind-hearted and generous people I
know. He is always willing to give, and that must be why he works so hard. Everyone
says he has an easy laugh, and he gets along really well with all the kids we
know. He always likes to start up a game or teach the kids something new. I’m
sure he’ll be a wonderful, loving father. Mike was born and grew up on
a dairy farm in upstate New York, where his parents and extended family still
live. Mike, along with his brother Bill and sister Alice, grew up surrounded by
their cousins, who now have children of their own. |

Mike
likes to keep lots of flowers blooming in the garden – spring, summer and fall! |
We
see all the aunts, uncles, and cousins at the annual Fourth of July party, where
we all camp out for the weekend. We also enjoy visiting for other holidays throughout
the year, especially Christmas. |
Mike

Mike
enjoys playing the guitar in his spare time. | Mike
has always had an eye for design, and now designs clothing for a company in New
York City. He also teaches a college class in interior design. Mike’s sister Alice
is also a designer and lives nearby. Mike has an art studio where he can go to
paint or draw. Our house is full of his artwork. He also enjoys gardening and
keeps our backyard looking beautiful. Mike is so handy around the house
that I think he could build or fix just about anything! |
