| We would like to
first say thank you and tell you how honored we are to have the opportunity to
share a glimpse of our lives with you. We know that this is a very difficult time
for you and the decisions and plans that you are making for your child’s future
are out of love for your child. We want you to know that, if we become a part
of your plan, the door to our hearts and our lives is wide open for your child.
We also want you to know how important you always will be in your child’s life. |

| Best
Friends … We have a tremendous relationship based on love, laughter, sharing,
respect, and support. We are each other’s best friend. From the beginning of our
lives together we have always talked of sharing our life with children and being
moms. We met fifteen years ago playing on the same rugby team. As we got to know
each other we were quick to discover how much we had in common. |
We
share a love and appreciation of the arts, sports, learning, travel, animals,
the outdoors and especially spending time with our families and wonderful friends. |
|
|
|
All of these things we are excited to share with a child. |
Kathleen
-Great sense of humor.. Kathleen is an incredibly passionate person whether
about her work, her family, her friends or her community. She is also an incredibly
talented and clever artist and loves sharing her talents with others, especially
children. I know that she will be an amazing mom. |
|
| I marvel at how children are drawn
to her and how quickly she wins them over. She loves spending time with her niece
and nephew and the many other children in our lives. Kathleen works as an architectural/interior
designer and has her own business. I am constantly amazed at how clever she is.
Evidence of her incredible creativity and skills abounds in our home! She works
from our house, which gives her great flexibility and will allow time to care
for a child. Kathleen is very fun-loving and has a great sense of humor and loves
to laugh. |

|
| Meg - Loyal and
Loving... The first thing that I noticed about Meg was how easily people
are drawn to her and the respect and admiration she quickly receives from them.
I think it is her passion for life and her incredible sense of humor that makes
people, especially children, feel safe, accepted and at ease. She is a great communicator
and can hold a room full of people or a single child’s attention. She is an incredibly
sharing and caring person whom people immediately trust. She is a very loyal and
loving friend who is willing to share anything – especially her love. I am so
excited at the prospect of our becoming parents together. |
Meg
is an executive chef. I marvel at how well she manages her kitchen and her staff
and the amazing food she so proudly produces. She has mentored many young culinary
students and loves to teach others. One of her greatest joys in life is to share
her love of food and hospitality. | |

|
We love to entertain and share our home with family, friends and neighbors. She
also participates in numerous fundraising events in our area. She is able to be
flexible with her schedule and plans to spend mornings at home with our child.
|
| Life
- Exellent Adventures.. After living in New York City and enjoying all
of the hustle and bustle, we have settled into a much more domestic routine, enjoying
evenings at home and days spent working on our home or garden. When we do plan
activities we usually choose between sports activities or what we call “Meg and
Kathleen’s Excellent Adventures”. |
|

| We
love to take drives and explore new areas. Whenever we travel we like to choose
the back roads or scenic routes. Our favorite getaway is a beach or lake. We have
such fond childhood memories that we cannot wait to recreate. While Meg grew up
with family vacations at the beach, Kathleen’s family enjoyed their New Hampshire
Lake cottage. We get to the lake as often as possible and love to share this special
place with our friends and their children. It is an incredible place of discovery
and fun. The beach, which is closer, has become our favorite retreat. We live
within an hour of beautiful beaches and enjoy visiting year round. |
|
|
Our
wonderful circle of family and friends.. We both grew up in the same metropolitan
area and after living in another state, we returned to our roots four years ago.
We are blessed to be closer to our families. Kathleen’s mother, father, stepmother,
sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew all live within twenty minutes of us
and we see everyone often. They are all incredibly excited and supportive of our
decision to adopt and cannot wait to have a new child in the family. Meg’s brother
lives in the same town and will be a big part of our child’s life. Meg also has
several cousins in the area that are incredibly supportive of us. Meg’s parents,
while they do not live in the immediate area, are a huge part of our lives and
we are very close to them. |
|

|
|
Our
family extends well outside the “traditional” family to our wonderful circle of
friends – most of whom we consider our family. We are blessed not only to have
wonderful supportive friends, but also to have their extended families as part
of our lives.

Community…
We love our town and community. It is a welcoming place that is racially,
socially and culturally diverse. There are other same sex couples and many have
chosen to raise children here. Our 100-year-old house sits on a quiet tree-lined
street. The centerpiece of our house is a beautiful three-season porch, which
wraps around the front. It will make a great playroom. On our second floor we
have a bright sunny room which we will use as a baby’s room. |
|

| We
currently share our house with two incredibly loving Siamese cats named Ella and
Oscar. We have wonderful neighbors who have become dear friends and are all excited
about our plans. There are many young children on our street. There are several
playgrounds and a great park within walking distance of our house. Our schools
are also within walking distance and our town library is at the top of our street.
|
While we have our quiet
oasis here, we are also a short distance from a major eastern metropolitan city
which has an incredible zoo and many museums devoted to children’s interests.
In the other direction we can find ourselves in beautiful country and farmland
which we love to explore.
