you for taking the time to learn about us, it is with great respect that we
write to you. We are humbled by the weight of your decision and pray that you
find comfort and peace in the choices ahead, whatever your decision may be. We
hope that by reading about us, you get a glimpse of who we are, our life together
and the love we have to share. |
About
Us Hi! We are pleased to have the opportunity to tell you about ourselves.
We are Joseph and Joe and we live a few hours from New York City on a country
farm in upstate New York with our two dogs, Baxter and Max. We met 14 years ago
and have been together ever since. Joe’s niece and nephews were toddlers when
we met, so we have been uncles and godparents to them along with friends’ children
and love every minute, all the time wanting our own family. We know in our hearts
that now is the time for us to become parents. We are ready to share our love
and family with a child. It is our dream to begin our family through the miracle
of adoption. “We are ready to share our love and family
with a child.” |

For
Fun We share many of the same hobbies; we both love to cook, and share
that joy with niece and nephews baking cookies and cakes at the holidays. We also
like to garden and spend time outdoors hiking, boating and fishing. We have a
large collection of books and are avid readers. One of our favorite past times
is the flea market and yard sales searching for antiques and learning the history
of the objects we collect. We also love to travel, meeting new people and learning
about the world. Since Joe’s parents live in Orlando, Florida, we get to visit
Disney World often and can’t wait to bring a child there too! |

Joseph “Joseph
is kind, warm-hearted, great with kids, open-minded and enjoys making people laugh
and feel at ease.” (by Joe) I grew up in a Polish/French family
surrounded by cousins and extended family. We enjoyed the holidays at my grandparents
with everyone together. During the summer, we are very active. Each July
we travel to the ocean where we spend time on the beach. We enjoy traveling to
new places and visiting family and friends. The winter months are special to us
because of the holiday season! The holidays are all about family and traditions.
We have been celebrating Thanksgiving at our house for the past few years happily
cooking for over 20 people! I work part time at a local bank. I am fortunate
to have a flexible schedule and friendly co-workers that are supportive and helpful
beyond work. They all have young children and are supportive as we build our family
through adoption. |

Joe “Joe
is creative and artistic and enjoys teaching kids, showing them new worlds and
opportunities.” (by Joseph) I was born to an Italian mother and
Norwegian father. Coming from two very different ethnic backgrounds was fun when
I was growing up. The foods, customs, language - everything was completely different
- I loved all of it. Holidays were always filled with lots of extended family
and lots of food. I learned to cook from my grandparents and keep the traditions
alive today. I work at a local art center and I have a fun and flexible
job coordinating educational programs in art, music, theatre and dance for children
and adults. On a typical day, there is a storytime and music workshop for preschoolers,
African Dance & Drum workshops and later on a theatre workshop for teens. I speak
Spanish and Italian and am involved in the Spanish and English programs offered.
The arts are an important part of our family and I can’t wait share my
love of the arts with a child. |

Our
Home “Some of our happiest times are spent in the
garden, fishing or boating on the lake or taking a hike – and it is all in our
backyard.” We are happy to live in our cozy country home. While
we live in a quiet area, there are many families in the area, with kids riding
their bicycles or playing by the nearby beaver pond. There are nature trails,
a private lake and over 25 wooded acres to explore. Just up the road is a park
for area families, with lots of arts and crafts and activities for kids. Some
of our happiest times are tending to the garden, fishing or boating on the lake
or just taking a hike to see the wildlife and birds – all in our backyard. |

Friends
& Family “We are fortunate to be surrounded by
many close friends and family members.” We are fortunate to be surrounded
by many close friends and family members. We both grew up surrounded by cousins
and extended family, enjoying the holidays at the grandparents with all the aunts
and uncles together. We are proud uncles to a niece and two nephews that live
just a few minutes away from us. We enjoy playing an active role in their lives
as we spend holidays, birthdays and weekend afternoons together. Since Joe’s parents
live in Orlando, Florida, a favorite winter getaway is to visit them (and of course
Mickey & Minnie!). We also look forward to their many visits back to New York. |
