Hello

We are George and Maureen and we cannot fully express in words how grateful we are to you for having the courage and strength to consider an adoption plan. Everyone’s journey in life is different and our individual journeys have led each of us here. We want you to know that your thoughts and feelings are of the utmost concern to us and if you choose to place your child with us, we commit to giving your child a lifetime of unconditional love, the safety of a warm and open home and the knowledge of how special you are.

Home
We are so excited for the day that we can take all the
wonderful experiences we have enjoyed in our home
and share them with our child.

Home is where the heart is. It is the place where our family gathers for Sunday dinner or for a late afternoon summer barbecue. We love to share our home with family and friends and it is often the site of impromptu neighborhood gatherings. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood on a dead-end street where children are often playing ball, skateboarding or jumping rope in their front yards. It is an ideal neighborhood for raising children. We are just around the corner from the town park and a few miles away from a State run nature preserve where they often have children’s activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and nature walks. The school district is rated one of the best in the area and we are confident that our child will receive an excellent education.

Kobe
Our dog Kobe is a seven-year-old Labrador Retriever who is definitely a member of the family!

He is extremely sweet and gentle and he is adored by all of our friend’s children. Kobe has the perfect temperament when around children, letting them chase him about the yard, tugging on his tail or giving big wet kisses!

Kobe loves to pose for photos!

Enjoying time together

We have known each other for many years, but when we starting dating we knew immediately that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Our relationship is built on strong friendship and respect for each other. Our love is deep and we continue to grow as a couple as we experience life’s up and downs together. We both have a tremendous capacity to love and we feel truly blessed to have each other.

We share so many things in common, but we also love the things that are different about each other.

While we both love to read, Maureen prefers fiction and George eats up historical non-fiction. We both love sports. Though George was the athlete in school, Maureen was always the one on the sidelines cheering on her team.

Family & Friends

We are lucky to have many of Maureen’s family members living in the same city. Maureen’s parents are both retired and are anxious for the arrival of their first grandchild! Her parents and sister, Amy, live only 10 minutes away. Maureen is also blessed to still have her 96-year-old grandmother living near by. Though she may be 96, she still lives in her own apartment and bakes the best cookies and pies ever! Maureen’s brother, David, lives further away, but always makes it home for family events, as well as her aunts and uncles, who travel several times a year to visit.

Family is everything to us.

Though George’s parents and relatives live a few hundred miles away, they will still be an important part of our child’s life. George was an only child but he grew up in a very large traditional Italian family with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who were constantly together. Family and food were the center of life for George growing up and we hope our child will share in many of the Italian traditions George experienced as a child. In the winter months, George’s parents live in Florida and there will certainly be annual visits to see them in Florida to enjoy the warm weather and one of our favorite places….the beach!

Maureen – by George

She loves being around family and friends and is one of the most generous people I know and will be an incredible Mom!

Maureen is incredibly special to me. She has so many wonderful qualities; I couldn’t help but fall in love with her. Maureen is a very warm and caring individual. She has several hobbies. Outside of golf, she took up knitting several years ago and has since made numerous scarves for family members and recently finished her first sweater. She also loves to paint pottery and has made dozens of step stools for her friends’ children. She just loves to cook and it just isn’t as much fun if she’s not cooking for a crowd. In her quieter moments she enjoys reading, word games, or playing with our Labrador retriever, Kobe.

While Maureen currently enjoys her job as a Vice President of Government Relations for an insurance company, she is looking forward to the day she can stay home and be a full-time mom.

George – by Maureen

George is a very loyal and dedicated person and I know he will be an amazing dad to our child.

George loves all sports and has played several different sports over the years. Right now he mostly loves golf! In his quiet time he enjoys being at home with family or friends. On beautiful sunny days one of his favorite things to do is pile the dog and me into the car to take a long drive to the Adirondacks or the Catskills to one of their many quaint towns. One of George’s favorite days of the week is Sunday…. Barbecues! Though I will tell you that he’s not much of a cook, he is definitely king of the BBQ!

George is my rock. He has shoulders as wide as the ocean and I love him for so many reasons. He pours his heart and soul into his family and his work and he is extremely dedicated to both. Though George's job as a Government Relations Consultant requires him to be around people constantly, he actually is a shy person at first. George is very smart and probably one of the top individuals in his profession.

Our commitment

We hope these few words and photos have helped give you a glimpse into our life. If you should find it in your heart to give us the greatest gift that anyone could ever give, you should know this: Your child will never feel alone, will always be loved, will be kept safe, will learn to believe in him or herself, will experience the joys of a wonderful family life and no matter what happens, your child will always have a safe place to land with our family.

We have made a commitment that your child will always know the sacrifice you made and the strength and courage it took for you to come to the decision to allow us to adopt your child. It takes a truly special person to consider an adoption plan and your child will always know just how special you are.
