As you consider the many people who dream of providing a loving home for your child, we’d like to thank you for taking a moment to get to know us. We hope that you will connect with the pictures of our life so far and see the love, happiness, and adventure we plan to give to the baby who joins our family. This is our promise to you.

Sabi Sands, South Africa

Ezra was raised outside NYC by parents who have been happily married for forty-seven years.

In college, I ran a children’s theater group. After graduating, I entered the field of land conservation. Now I run a national non-profit organization dedicated to protecting water and rivers across the country. When I’m not outside, I like to cook special dinners for people I love.

James grew up in a hard-working family in Arizona helping to care for his many younger siblings.

I was fortunate enough to be the first in my family to go to college. After graduating, I developed a career working in the field of medical imaging technology. My life and work have introduced me to many cultures, and I’m now pursing my degree in intercultural relations. When I’m not studying, I love to hike, watch movies, and bake desserts for my family.

Family is priority #1 for Ezra and James.

Even in the busiest of times, our families vacation and celebrate birthdays and holidays together. This is particularly meaningful because our parents have raised a total of 10 children. With so much family in our lives, we’ll have many people to help us care for our new baby.

Our Friends are part of our family

Some of our friendships started over 20 years ago when we were children, and have matured into a community filled with many fascinating and loving people. Our child will be surrounded by a stimulating and entertaining community with role models for any number of interests they may develop throughout their life. In addition, most of our closest friends have families with young children who visit regularly. All of them are eager to be aunts and uncles to a new baby in our home.

James and Ezra have been together since 2003.

Our first dates say a lot about who we are as people and our love for one another. We hiked up a snowy mountain in the Adirondacks, ate the world’s best omelet in a railroad car diner, and explored the jazz clubs in New Orleans. Together, we have traveled through Africa, put down roots in New York and Oregon, and prepared our home for the baby we hope to welcome soon.

James and Ezra also love being at home and have put a lot of work into their houses.

While we have kept our home in a wonderful upstate New York college town, our primary residence is now in Oregon. In both locations, minutes from our front doors, there are excellent schools, large parks, great restaurants and many diverse families with lots of children at play. We are also only a short drive to endless destinations for skiing, hiking, rafting and swimming.

Ezra and James have longed to be parents from the time they were children.

We are open and embracing people who will raise our child with a deep respect and awareness of his or her ethnicity, religion, and culture. We have a stable, committed, and lifelong bond with each other, and we will bring the same devotion to our child.

We each plan to take a significant leave from work when our child arrives. Afterwards James will resume working from our house, which will allow him to be more of a stay-at-home dad.

Thank you for getting to know us.

We cannot begin to imagine the questions and thoughts in your mind at such an important time, but we hope you will give us the opportunity to provide the best answers we can. Together we can create a vision of true happiness for the child you are bringing into this world. We hope to hear from you soon.
