Hello!

We are Brigette and Shawn and we want to thank you for looking at a snapshot of our lives. We want you to know that we have a great deal of respect and admiration for you as you bravely explore what is best for you and your baby. If you decide that adoption is the best plan for you, we promise to provide your baby with a loving, nurturing, and fun filled home; surrounded by family and friends.

About Us

We have been together for ten years and married for more than six of those wonderful years!

Brigette is a Social Worker who works for New York State and Shawn is a Purchasing Manager who works for a large corporation.

Our marriage is based on values such as love, respect, good character, forgiveness, and compromise.

We value volunteering in the community and have worked on projects such as painting a domestic violence shelter, cleaning up parks, and volunteering in elementary schools. Besides these activities, we enjoy walking our dog together, working on home projects, spending time with our good friends who are also adopting, or just relaxing at home. We have a very strong faith and we are glad that there are adoptive families in our parish.

We usually take a yearly vacation to destinations along the East Coast. Our goal is to see all of the National Parks in the United States. So far we have seen two, so we have a long way to go! We cannot wait to introduce our child to the wonders of the world! Our dog Destiny frequently travels with us and even likes to hike! She has a “Canine Good Citizen” certificate from the American Kennel Club.

We are a very active couple. We enjoy hiking, boating, picnicking, camping, horseback riding and traveling.

From the first day I met Shawn, I knew that he was the type of person that lights up a room. He has the kindest, gentlest soul, and a passion for life. This is why I love him so much.

Shawn has a fun loving personality and is well-liked. He is also very giving and frequently carries out random acts of kindness – like paying for an elderly woman’s groceries when she realized she left her money at home.

From very early on in our relationship, I knew he would be a great father. I remember seeing Shawn play with my young cousin the first day they met. It seemed like my cousin had known Shawn for years.

Shawn is going to be an exceptional father who is very involved with the activities of our child’s life.

Now that Shawn is an Uncle, I always know where I can find him when we are at my brother’s home – on the floor playing with our nephew, Charlie. Charlie loves his “Uncle Shawn.” There is nothing I enjoy more than watching the two of them play together. I cannot wait to see Shawn do the same with our son or daughter.

Brigette and I became best friends early on in our relationship and after a very short time, I knew that I wanted to marry her. Brigette means everything to me. She is a loving and nurturing person and she always finds good in any situation. I have never known anyone to have such a positive approach to life. Brigette was raised with strong family values, which has been a strength in our marriage and will be a great strength for our family.

Brigette’s family and friends know that she is always someone they can count on for support, advice, or just a lighthearted conversation. As long as we have been together, Brigette has loved kids. Brigette is very dedicated to her family and spends a lot of her free time with her niece and nephew. She is someone who makes the Rotarian slogan “Service above Self” a part of her daily routine. She truly finds peace in contributing to the well-being of others. I know that because of her love, dedication, and commitment to children and family, she will nurture and raise our child to see all the wonderful opportunities life has to offer.

As long as we have been together Brigette has loved kids.

Our Humble Abode

Our home is a cozy split-level ranch with a fully fenced-in backyard. We live in a suburban town in Upstate New York within a highly-rated school district. We have many parks in our town where children enjoy playgrounds and sporting events such as baseball, tennis, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There is a bike path, walking trails and a nature preserve within two miles of our home. Our town has festivals during the year where many young families gather for food and fun.

We are so excited to explore and support our child’s interests as he or she grows up!

Our families have welcomed our plan to adopt with open arms. Both of us grew up with wonderful family traditions that we remember fondly.
