We can only imagine how difficult it must be for you to be considering adoption. We admire the incredible amount of courage and love you have for your baby. We thank you for reading our profile and hope that it will help you to learn more about us. We want you to know that if you decide to place your child with us, your child will find a home full of love with an enormous amount of warmth and a supportive family

Allan and Howie

We have been together for ten wonderful years. We knew we were meant for each other when we met for the very first time on a cold December day in New York City, which happened to be on Allan’s birthday. We hit it off right away and have been a couple ever since! We are extremely dedicated and committed to each other, our families and our careers. Our house is warm and our lives filled with family and friends; yet, we would like to complete our lives with a family of our own. Together in our spare time we love movies, traveling, theater, tennis, watching television, doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.

We would like to complete our lives with a family of our own.

Howie

Howie is an eye doctor in practice on Long Island and works with doctors in training at a teaching hospital. He loves working with people of all ages and is so grateful that he has the ability to help them see better. Howie gets a lot of satisfaction knowing that he helps to improve the quality of his patients’ lives by improving their vision.

“Howie has a warmheart and is always the calming force in the family…Look at some pictures and smile with him…” Allan often says this about Howie…

Allan

Allan is a teacher who works with elementary and middle school children in New York City teaching English. While Howie helps people see literally, Allan helps his students to view things figuratively through literature and writing. What a team!

He has been a teacher for 20 years and enjoys spending time working with kids who need extra help. Since Allan has a teacher’s work schedule, he is off from school during the summer and he will be able to spend that time with our child. Allan can’t wait to share his humor and love with a child. Allan has the unique talent of performing in community theater with adults and children. He has participated in the productions of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,”…(do you see his Matt Broderick looks?)…and other Broadway type musicals.

Allan loves teaching and was pleasantly surprised when he was nominated and won “Best School Teacher 2000” for the Northeast United States.

Allan loves to ham it up for the camera. Here he is at the San Diego Zoo!

Allan is always the teacher. Here he is chatting with Abe Lincoln in Chicago!

Allan is learning about sailing a colonial ship from some sailors back from a long journey from Gilligan’s Island. (There is Allan’s sense of humor again…)

We are caring soulmates who want to share our lives with a child.

Home

We live outside of New York City in a town that has a school district noted for its excellence. Our home has a lot of space for a child to be nurtured, grow and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. It is situated in a family neighborhood wheremany children play in their backyards and is in an area withmany parks and playgrounds.

Presently, we share our home with our dog, Sammy, who is a Maltese and has human-like hair so children aren’t allergic to him. He is five-years-old, but everyone thinks he is still a puppy. He is so adorable, loves to be cuddled and never barks. He looks like a snowball; he is totally white! He loves playing tug-of-war with his stuffed animal toys and going for rides in the car.

Family ... Friends

Howie comes froma loving family. His parents and brothers and sister live in the Boston area. His sister and one brother both have families and children, all girls. Howie loves to visit his nieces and shower themwith love! Allan is blessed to have his family live close by. Hismother lives 18miles away and she is excited at the chance to have another grandchild to dote on and love. Sadly, Allan’s father passed away three years ago. Before his untimely passing, he was aware and supportive of Allan and Howie’s decision to adopt. Allan’s two brothers also live nearby. Both of Allan’s brothers aremarried. Allan has five nephews with ages that range from7 to 26. They too can’t wait to share playing with another cousin and doting on a new bundle of joy.

We are nurturing, loving individuals who work with children on a daily basis and understand first hand the daily joys and struggles that children go through as they grow.

We know you want the best for your child and we can assure you that we will be the best possible parents for your child. We are very fortunate that we are surrounded by many women who will be great maternal role models for the baby. Our good fortune, our careers, and meeting each other ten years ago have been a godsend, for these circumstances have made us the generous and loving people and future parents we hope to be.

We thank you for considering us as prospective adoptive parents for your child. We would love to speak with you to answer any questions you may have for us and for each of us to get to know each other better. Please feel free to call us toll free at Friends in Adoption, 1-800-844-3630.

With our admiration for you,

Howie & Allan
